Teach and record at once: trinocular head with a 5MP USB camera included

MicroHub LabTrino 40x–1000x Trinocular Microscope with 5MP Camera

Overview

The third port on a trinocular head is what turns a microscope into a teaching and documentation tool. The LabTrino includes a 5MP USB camera that mounts on that port, so one person can focus through the binocular eyepieces while a room watches on a projector, and stills and measurements save straight to the computer. Optical magnification is 40x–1000x from plan-achromatic objectives. The camera software supports Windows and Mac and includes basic measurement after calibration with a stage micrometer (sold separately). An education and research-support instrument — not a clinical diagnostic device.

Key benefits

  • Direct optical viewing. An eyepiece image with no screen lag — what you see is the specimen itself, not a rendering of it.
  • Focus — Coaxial coarse and fine focus.
  • Lighting — LED transmitted light, variable brightness (Köhler-ready field diaphragm).

Magnification, explained honestly

For this model the published figure is: 40x–1000x optical (10x eyepieces × 4x/10x/40x/100x objectives).

Two different things get called “magnification”. Optical magnification is produced by the lens system and carries real detail. Digital zoom enlarges the captured image on screen — the picture gets bigger, but no new detail appears, because the sensor captured a fixed amount of information. MicroHub publishes the derivation with every figure; where a headline number mixes the two, the optical range is the one to compare between models.

Working distance, screen & output

OutputsUSB
LightingLED transmitted light, variable brightness (Köhler-ready field diaphragm)
FocusCoaxial coarse and fine focus

The working distance is the clearance between lens and subject — the space your hands and tools actually get. Screen and output decide who can watch: a built-in LCD for one pair of eyes at the bench, HDMI for a room, USB for capture and measurement.
